For families
The same twelve courses, on the machine at home.
CodeLabs is mostly run through schools and organisations, but the app itself is the same one a single child can work through at home — offline, on a laptop you already own.
What you get
One app, twelve courses, six months
Twelve structured courses
From computational thinking through algorithms, data, games, apps, cybersecurity and machine learning foundations, ending in a capstone project. Two courses a month if you follow the pace.
No internet needed
A Windows desktop app that runs on low-spec hardware. Nothing to configure, no account to create, and it keeps working on a bad connection.
Nothing collected
CodeLabs collects zero data. Your child’s work stays on your machine.
Is it the right fit?
Who this suits
- Designed for ages 10–15, mapped to the CSTA K–12 standards for Years 5–9.
- A complete beginner. Students write in plain-English pseudocode from the first lesson, so there is no language to learn before starting.
- A parent who does not code. The courses are self-directed; you do not need to teach it.
- A household where the connection is unreliable, or a device that is a few years old.
If your child is already comfortable in Python or Java, CodeLabs is probably below where they are — it is built to get someone to that point, not past it.
Getting started
Family access is arranged directly with us rather than through a checkout. Send us a note saying how old your child is and what they have tried before, and we will tell you whether it is a fit and what it costs.
